2011 Season
Photo Makeup Day, Saturday, May 14th
If your child missed Photo Day, or would like to re-take, you can make arrangements with
Shooting Stars to attend Photo Makeup day, this
Saturday, May 14th. Those that sign-up for Make-up Day will be provided with all the details
(time, location, instructions, etc).
MA Little League Hit-A-Thon a Success!!
Menlo-Atherton Little League’s annual Hit-a-Thon was well attended, provided fun for all,
and raised nearly $20,000 that will go towards maintaining the fields our league plays on.
With dwindling money from city budgets for field maintenance, this helps us provide sorely
needed attention that otherwise would not exist. Thank you! Check out the website for more

2011 All Stars Approaching
Menlo Atherton Little League fields District All Star Teams for 12yr olds, 11yr olds, and
9/10yr olds. In addition, we field two Superbowl Teams: Majors and Minors.

MA Little League All Star Selection Process
Menlo Atherton Little League fields 3 District All Star Teams and two Superbowl Teams.
The All Star teams are grouped by age. There is a 12-year old team, an 11-year old team
and one for 9-10 year olds. These teams each play in a double elimination tournament
that runs from June 25 all the way to July 9 (if they make it to the District 52 finals).
Typically these teams are made up of Majors players, along with a few AAA players.
There are also two SuperBowl tournaments for players that were nominated but not taken
for one of the All Star teams. The SuperBowl Majors team is made up of Majors players.
Similarly, the SuperBowl Minors team is made up of AAA players (since there are generally
very few AAA players accepted on the All Star teams, SuperBowl Minors is essentially
the AAA All-Star team). The SuperBowl tournaments are single elimination, and only run
for 4 days from June 18 through June 21 (if you win Sat, you play Sun; win Sunday,
play Mon; win Monday and play in the finals on Tuesday).
The All Star and SuperBowl teams are selected by the League All Star Committee. The
committee is made up of the division commissioners, Majors managers, the League President
and Player Agent. Towards the end of the season, the committee collects nominations and
stats from each of the coaches from the Majors and AAA divisions. The committee takes
into account each player's performance over the course of the season and each player's
availability during the tournament season. Teams are made up of at least 12 players,
although they can be extended to 13 or 14 at the manager's discretion.
The manager of the Majors team that wins the Championship is the defacto Manager of one
of the All Star teams, pending approval of Commissioners and President. The remaining
Managers and coaches are determined by vote of the Majors managers/coaches,
pending approval of Commissioners and President.
Note, Little League rules prohibit us from practicing or even announcing the All Star
teams until June 15. As soon as the teams are announced, players will be contacted.
Superbowl Teams can be announced Sunday, June 12th. (Superbowl Minors will have a try-out
on the 11th or 12th. Coaches will inform players who should tryout).

website, so check it often for ongoing information. Brackets will
