What is the purpose of our annual Hit-a-Thon?
- Funding – our player registration fees cover only 75% of the league’s annual budget. We depend on donations and sponsorships to cover our remaining operating costs. We are also committed to exceed typical standards for on-field experience and player development.
- Community Involvement – a guiding principle of our league is that we provide a service to the youth in our local community. Our league is stronger when we involve the full community in our mission.
- Player Involvement – we believe our players experience growth beyond the baseball field when they become personally and actively involved in league fundraising.
How does this work for the players?
For the next couple of weeks our players will collect donations from friends, family and members of the community. The league will track donations in several ways, including the number of unique donations per player, total donations per player and total donations across the player’s entire team.
Achievement across several areas of measurement will make the player (and his or her team) eligible for prizes that will be awarded at our annual Player Appreciation Day in June. Additionally, depending on the player’s age, he or she will also compete for prizes tied to their Hit-a-Thon batting performance at the event on May 5th.
How can you contribute?
The simplest way to donate is by making an online (credit card) donation in the name of the player.
Go to www.m-all.org and follow the big link for Hit-a-Thon donations. These contributions are integrated with our PayPal account and the PCI security offered by that service. The player may also collect cash or check donations and submit them through their coach.
